That led to work focused on stories where sport sits within a wider social and cultural context, often with a narrative or investigative thread.

Early work included the BAFTA-winning investigation Rangers: The Men Who Sold The Jerseys and Sins of Our Fathers, which helped establish an approach to factual storytelling built around character, context and long-form narrative.

Since then, I’ve produced and directed a range of documentaries, including Walter: A Life in Football, a portrait of Walter Smith’s career; Scotland’s Game, a multi-part social history of Scottish football; and Boycotts and Broken Dreams, which looked at the political and financial fallout of the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

Alongside those, I’ve worked on projects that take a lighter or more reflective view of sport and its culture, including Away With The Tartan Army and Off the Ball: Petty and Ill-Informed. More recently, I’ve produced and directed multiple episodes of Icons of Football, as well as The Edinburgh Show with Grant Stott and The Lost Final.

Outside broadcast, I’ve also worked in short drama and publishing.
